New Madison Smoke Alarm Ordinance
Effective August 15, 2010, Madison’s smoke alarm ordinance requires smoke alarms be replaced with units that have a 10-year lithium battery. 9-Volt batteries are out unless they serve as a back up to a hard-wired alarm.
